 | I'm a marine landscape/seascape painter working in acrylics, watercolour and oil. |
I paint most frequently in a realistic style; encorporating semi-abstract elements and modifying colours to improve composition and add interest and visual impact. Over the years, I've also taken many life drawing classes and workshops in order to place figures in my work where they may tell a story by what they're doing; but mostly I enjoy the rugged beauty of the west coast marine scene.
I also enjoy painting some semi-abstract seascapes to try and capture the feeling of the west coast ocean's various moods.
We have been west coast boaters for years, and are now privileged to live on the waterfront, where my studio overlooks eastern Vancouver Island from Saanichton Bay, near Sidney, BC, just outside Victoria, in Canada.
I'm pleased to have my work in some private and corporate collections across Canada and the US.
